A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the latest claim to surface in their hunt for a new permanent manager.

According to journalist Gianluigi Longari, Spurs are considering as a cheaper alternative to the former Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte.

Would you like Fonseca as the next Spurs manager?

is looking to replace Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese manager’s 17-month stint at the club was brought to an end in April.

Ironically, Fonseca is the manager which Roma are replacing with Mourinho after the 48-year-old’s two-year tenure at the Serie A club comes to an end (via Transfermarkt).

Spurs fans flocked to the tweet from The Spurs relaying Longari’s claim and it is clear they were disappointed to hear their links with Fonseca.

What exactly did these Spurs fans have to say?

In the 101 games Fonseca managed during his two years with the Italian outfit, the 48-year-old recorded 53 wins and 28 defeats, however, he was only able to guide Roma to a seventh spot finish in the 2020/21 campaign.

Going by the reaction of these Spurs fans it seems apparent the claim comes as a disappointment to them given the calibre of manager they have been linked with over the course of the last week.
