Who scored the opening goal in Liverpool's 4-3 win over Leeds United at Anfield in September?

The Canaries are pushing ahead with signings ahead of their return to the Premier League in the 2021/22 campaign and have already signed Milot Rashica and Angus Gunn.

They have been heavily linked with a move for Gilmour, with some suggestions that the club are very close to signing the Chelsea man on loan.

O’Rourke revealed that Norwich are indeed keen on Gilmour – but so are plenty of other clubs.

He said: “So I think going out on loan to another Premier League club would probably be the preferred destination for Gilmour and for Chelsea, just to see how he copes with a full season in the Premier League.

“I spoke to somebody at Norwich yesterday, and they did confirm they’re very much interested in signing Gilmour, but he did say to me, there is a long list of clubs after Gilmour, and he wasn’t sure exactly where Norwich would be on that list.

“So I think you’re probably talking about half the Premier League will be interested in Billy Gilmour if he’s available. Most of the bottom-half teams would take him in a heartbeat.”

TIF Thoughts on Gilmour to Norwich…

The 20-year-old has only made 22 senior appearances for the Blues, and Chelsea do have a lot of options in central midfield, so perhaps a loan move to the Canaries would be a good option.

Gilmour has a bright future ahead of him, and playing under a manager like Daniel Farke, who has a fine track record with youngsters, could turn out to be an excellent move for both Gilmour and, more importantly, for the Premier League newboys.

So, we will have to watch what happens now, but if Norwich can bring in Gilmour, that could prove to be a superb loan deal if he continues to deliver on the promise that has got many sitting up and taking notice.
