Newcastle's all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Alan Shearer but how many goals did he score for the club?

It claims that the Toon will look to take the Arsenal man on a season-long loan if they do not succeed with their proposed deal for Kristoffer Ajer.

This has drawn the attention of these Toon fans, who are fuming.

Loan it is then, nothing new with Cashley fat pockets, only a takeover will breathe life back into our Club.”

@My5cherriepies

“Sick of this transfer spec. We await takeover decision until then nothing will happen as simple as that .”

“Wallpapering over the cracks again I see Mr Ashley.”

Do you think that Saliba would be a good signing?

No, pointless loan signing

Yes, he would be a good addition

Yes, he would be a good addition

The deal for Ajer was reported as pretty much done recently, but Norwich City are set to come in and bid £10m for the Norwegian international, while the Toon were preparing a £6m offer.

So, that deal could be in doubt, and it looks like attention has turned to Saliba, who the Gunners signed in the summer of 2019 for £27m.

This post continued to draw in Newcastle fans who had their say.

I’d be happy with that. He’s outstanding.”

@foxaj

Keep both well away. Would be shocking business..”

@AleFoxxx

If my memory serves me correct the last two Arsenal players to come to the Toon we’re Willock and Hayden, so bring it on!”

@BarryBlakely

It is clear that most Toon fans wouldn’t be happy with this deal because Saliba would just be a short-term fix.

However, it remains to be seen if the Toon can even bring the Frenchman in on loan.
