United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest claim surrounding the potential of the Tyneside club.

This comes after Newcastle-focused Twitter account @NUFC360 shared a post relaying news originally published in a report from Football Insider

Newcastle's all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Alan Shearer but how many goals did he score for the club?

The report claims that “all parties are still committed” to the takeover and there is a “growing hope it will be concluded by the end of July.”

This post then gathered a number of replies from , who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest claim.

So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say in response to this latest claim about the takeover?

“Don’t tease me like that”

“I hope so. The Toon army need hope.”

“Never in doubt , we shall overcome”

“Statements like this are completely irrelevant. It doesn’t matter how committed or confident anyone is. Arbitration is win or bust. That’s it.”

“This is never going to be end of July. It probably won’t even be July next year. The court cases alone are going to drag on, it’s just what happens with NUFC, then it would all fall apart anyway after all of this hype.”

“It’s a shame these reports are still coming through. I really do feel for some of those who are hanging on to hope of this coming true.”

Looking at the replies to this post, it seems that while some are still hopeful of the Saudi takeover coming to fruition, there are other Newcastle fans that seem to think it will not happen.

Do you think the takeover is likely to happen at Newcastle this year?

Now that the club is in the middle of two legal battles against the Premier League over the failed takeover, and with one set to take place in July, this just leads to the fact that whether the Toon fans believe a takeover could still happen or not, there is still some waiting to do to get a clearer picture on the situation.
