Newcastle United fans have been reacting to claims about the future of Matt Ritchie following recent reports.
The 31-year-old certainly had something of an eventful season. Off the pitch, he got into an altercation with head coach Steve Bruce, but was able to make a comeback and contribute three assists in the final stretch of the campaign to help Newcastle pull away from the relegation zone.
Now though, according to a report from The Mirror, he is starting to think of life away from Newcastle United, having been disappointed when a proposed move away back in January fell through, he is now said to be anxious to make a move back to former club AFC Bournemouth for family reasons.
This news was relayed to fans via the Newcastle United – Chronicle Facebook page, where fans were there to offer a sympathetic ear for what he was going through, and at the same time share their dismay at the idea that he could be about to leave:
Should the club let Matt Ritchie move?
You can certainly understand the emotions on show, and at least it appears that Ritchie wants to leave for the right reasons, so it’s hard to think that many fans could be too upset about the reason he’s reportedly looking to seek an exit at the very least.
