Lots of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration at the latest transfer claim to emerge ahead of this summer’s window.

According to Football Insider, Newcastle are working on a deal to claim the signature of Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury, with Southampton also in the mix.

The 23-year-old midfielder struggled for game time under Brendan Rodgers in the 2020/21 Premier League campaign, having made just 10 appearances in the league (via Transfermarkt).

It was also reported Steve Bruce has already spoken to the midfielder about potentially signing for the Tyneside club this summer, with the £6.3m-rated ace believed to be one of Toon manager’s top targets.

The tweet from NUFC360 relaying the report from Football Insider saw Newcastle fans flock to give their thoughts and it appears not all of them were impressed.

What exactly did these Newcastle fans have to say?

“Take him but it can’t be for Willock, we still need a Willock type player. Doesn’t look good for Hayden this though,”

Newcastle fans enjoyed a stunning run of form towards the back end of the 2020/21 campaign from loan signing Joe Willock. The youngster netted seven times in seven games but has since returned to his parent club, Arsenal.

Going by the reaction of these Newcastle fans, it is clear they are not impressed by being linked with Choudhury and there is no doubt that many will be hoping the club can sign Willock on a permanent deal.
