Newcastle's all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Alan Shearer but how many goals did he score for the club?

The former Luton Town manager was appointed by the Toon as an assistant manager in January this year, and his arrival led to an immediate win against Everton at Goodison Park.

In fact, after Jones arrived at his boyhood club, Newcastle only lost six of 18 games, showing that his arrival had a real impact on Newcastle’s season.

He is currently with England helping Gareth Southgate prepare the Three Lions for the Euros, and Kennedy was asked about Jones’ future.

He said: “He is contracted to Newcastle United for next season, I’m led to believe. So I wouldn’t be worried about that. If all of a sudden he gets offered a manager’s job in the summer, I think it would have to be a good manager’s job for Graeme Jones to walk away because he left a relatively cushy job at Bournemouth.

“He’s moved everybody; he’s moved his family back up here. He’s just getting his feet under the table at Newcastle United back on his home turf. I think he’d be here to stay. I wouldn’t worry about that too much.”

Do you think that Jones will stay at Newcastle?

TIF Thoughts on Jones…

The 51-year-old has vast experience, having worked for the Belgian national team, Wigan Athletic, and Everton before taking on this role with the Toon.

So, you could see why some clubs could perhaps be interested in taking him, but the players like him, and in an interview, he spoke about how much of an honour it was to work for the Toon.

So, we agree with Kennedy on Jones and can see him staying at Newcastle.
