Journalist Patrick Berger has recently talked about Manchester United’s chase of Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman.

Berger appeared as a guest on the latest episode of Stretford Paddock’s Tier 1 podcast, where he mainly spoke about Manchester United’s chase of Jadon Sancho.

The journalist was also asked about whether the Red Devils have a potential Plan B amid their interest in the Englishman and Berger went on to provide details about the situation of Coman.

It has been reported recently that Coman’s agent and family are trying to force a move to Old Trafford this summer after he rejected a new contract from Bayern Munich.

Berger talked about United’s potential chase of Coman and stated that United indeed have held some talks with the Frenchman’s agents.

He claimed: “There are talks with the representatives of Kingsley Coman. There is no solution found at the moment with Bayern Munich to extend the contract.

“And he’s like a Plan B. He has Pini Zahavi – we all know him, he’s a very experienced agent in this business and he’s in contact with the Man United bosses and he could be a Plan B.”

TIF Thoughts on Coman to United…

In the 2020/21 campaign, Coman was pretty active on the goal contributions front for Bayern as he was involved in 23 goals in all competitions for the Bavarians.

Who scored the opening goal in Liverpool's 4-3 win over Leeds United at Anfield in September?

And while he is still only 25, Coman has had constant injury issues over the last few campaigns and they have generally been muscle problems that seem to occur quite often.

This may make Coman a risky signing for Man United and instead of signing him, they should perhaps focus on signing Sancho only, as the Englishman has a cleaner fitness record.
