The United Stand presenter Mark Goldbridge has provided Manchester United fans with a positive update regarding the rumoured reports surrounding Jadon Sancho signing for The Red Devils this summer.

Sancho, valued at £90 million according to Transfermarkt, has been long been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, in a rumour that refused to go away last summer – but ultimately failed to come to fruition.

With Chelsea also reportedly showing interest in the ex-Manchester City prodigy, Goldbridge is confident that United will beat their rivals to his much-anticipated signature.

Speaking on the United Stand YouTube channel, Goldbridge said:

“I think it’s pretty sure that something is going to happen in the next few days – what that something will be, I don’t know.

“However, there are reports around that Manchester United could face a battle with Chelsea for Jadon Sancho and I want to sort of nip this in the bud very, very quickly and say that I have heard nothing that Chelsea are in for Jadon Sancho. I know there are stories there, but you know what, as much as I won’t believe it until Sancho’s holding up the shirt, I don’t believe he’s going to be holding up a Chelsea shirt; I don’t believe he’s going to be holding a Liverpool shirt. I believe he will be a Manchester United player.”

TIF Thoughts on Jadon Sancho’s future…

Sancho has been a revelation since he joined Borussia Dortmund in 2017 as a young prodigy, contributing to 114 goals in 137 appearances to date (via Transfermarkt).

It would seem that with the amount of speculation surrounding his future over the previous 12 months that he looks likely to leave this summer. If he joins Manchester United, his goals and creativity that he has shown in Germany could help United close the gap on city rivals Manchester City.

He could also bring a winning mentality to Manchester, as United are yet to win a trophy under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with Sancho enjoying success in Germany winning the German Cup and the German Super Cup.
