Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster thinks that the Red Devils must do all that they can in order to sign Erling Braut Haaland.

Manchester United are just one of a number of clubs that have shown interest in the 20-year-old, and with good reason. His record of 106 goals in 153 career games, including 41 in 41 last season for Borussia Dortmund would arguably make him an asset to pretty much every team on the planet.

And speaking in an interview with The United Stand, Foster felt that the opportunity to sign Haaland this summer is something that Manchester United simply cannot turn down and need to do whatever they can in order to make it happen:

“If Man United could get someone like Haaland – it has to be Haaland, basically. I think whoever gets Haaland, you may as well just pay what it takes, because them players don’t come around, they don’t.

“It’s almost like signing a Messi or a Ronaldo. They are that much better than the rest, that you have to just pay it. Just pay it and it’s done.

“If Man United don’t get Haaland this season, I do worry that he would go to someone else and you’re never getting him ever again.”

Will Man United sign Haaland?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Barring some absolute catastrophe, like a serious injury or being one of those players that simply struggles to adapt to the Premier League, then Haaland’s record does suggest he and his goals are just about as sure-fire a thing as you can get in world football.

And if Manchester United are serious about getting him, with reports seeming to suggest they are willing to throw everything they can at signing him and abandoning other targets to make it happen, then it would come across as a real statement of intent should they pull it off.

It may cost them big financially this summer, and possibly by selling a few players along the way to finance it, but with Haaland in your team, if all goes well, then they could instantly become title challengers simply with his addition.
