Leeds United attacker Tyler Roberts has been sharing his thoughts on Whites manager Marcelo Bielsa as well as the help and guidance he has given during his time at Elland Road.

This comes after Roberts made a guest appearance on a recent edition of The Beautiful Game Podcast, where he discussed a range of topics about himself and the Yorkshire club.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

On the subject of Bielsa, Roberts had this to say about the Argentine.

He said: “I think he’s a manager that can read things very well, so he knew that I could do certain things, but he also knew why I wasn’t doing them when I was coming on.

“Or why if I started a couple of games, why I wasn’t impacting the game as I should be, and he kind of just showed me where I should be picking the ball up and what sort of things I should be doing in what areas and I kind of just decided to just take it all in.”

Bielsa joined Leeds back in the summer of 2018. Since then, the 65-year-old has taken charge of 140 matches with Leeds, more than any other team he’s managed in his career, in which they have won 74, drew 22 and lost 44 in the process (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Tyler Roberts’ comments on Bielsa…

Given how Roberts had a fairly inconsistent start to his season in the Premier League with Leeds in terms of appearances, before going on to feature in all but one league match since February – scoring one goal and providing two assists in the process – this could suggest that Roberts has managed to take advice from Bielsa throughout the season to make himself more of a regular figure in the team.

In our view, if Roberts continues to heed the advice and guidance of Bielsa to help him improve, then he could find himself being a crucial member of the squad for next season, especially if he manages to pick up some more goals and assists along the way.
