Dean Windass doesn’t think there’s any chance Kalvin Phillips will leave Leeds this summer despite his growing reputation following his England performances.

The midfielder earned his first Three Lions call-up before even he’d played in the Premier League, but that decision was quickly justified by Gareth Southgate following his form for Leeds last season.

Do you think Leeds can finish in the top six next season?

Phillips managed just one goal and two assists from his 29 league appearances for Leeds, but he’s quickly established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the top-flight, and is a key part of Marcelo Bielsa’s cog at Elland Road.

He’s continued his form into Euro 2020 and produced one of the standout performances of the tournament in England’s opener against Croatia, which included the assist for Raheem Sterling’s winner.

Such is Phillips’ impressive form, Tottenham, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Juventus are all keeping a close eye on the 25-year-old, who’s been with Leeds since he was a teenager.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

But Windass exclusively told This is Futbol that he could leave Leeds one day, but not just yet:

“The one thing about Kalvin is that he’s a Leeds lad, and that will keep him there. He sprays balls around and has got great energy.

“Being a Leeds lad, second year in the Premier League, he’ll know what players are going to come in.

“If someone from the top four comes in for you, you treble your salary it turns your head, but I can’t see him leaving Leeds at this present time.”
