AS Roma and Italy left-back Leonardo Spinazzola would fit in well at Leeds United, says ex-Whites midfielder Carlton Palmer.

Leeds are seemingly in the market for a player in that position and have been linked with the likes of Real Madrid’s Marcelo and Maxwel Cornet of Lyon.

Spinazzola has been one of the standout defenders in Euro 2020, providing a real attacking threat for Italy as he has bombed down that left flank.

Should the club try to sign Spinazzola?

Absolutely!

No, it's pointless

Ultimately, showing plenty of energy by getting up and down the pitch and performing in such a big tournament, Palmer believes he could be a good fit for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

“Anybody who’s got energy and can get up and down the pitch will fit into the style that Bielsa wants and the way that he’s going to play,” the ex-Leeds star exclusively told TIF.

“Once you go into a European Championship and you play well and you do well, obviously you’re going to get a lot of suitors.”

One of those suitors look to be Real Madrid, with AS (via Football Italia) reporting that Spinazzola’s agent recently met with the Spanish giants.

It could complicate things for Leeds, but why not try and be ambitious, especially when you have a high-profile coach like Bielsa in charge?
