Leeds United journalist Beren Cross has been speaking on a Facebook live video for Leeds Live to discuss potential summer signings for the Yorkshire club.

One name which has been linked with a possible move to Leeds this summer is Stade Brest left-back, Romain Perraud.

Should Leeds make one last attempt for Perraud?

However, the Whites are believed to be facing firm competition for the 23-year-old from fellow Premier League side Southampton.

Perraud had an impressive 2020/21 Ligue 1 campaign with the Frenchman returning three goals and seven assists in his 36 appearances (via Transfermarkt).

Discussing potential arrivals this summer for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, Cross revealed Leeds’ current stance on the potential signing of Perraud this season.

He said: “From what I understand, [Romain] Perraud was somebody that they really did like several months ago, as reported by The Athletic – that one has gone cold.

“I think Perraud is some way down the list that they’re interested in.”

TIF Thoughts on Perraud to Leeds…

There is still a lot of speculation surrounding Leeds left-back Ezgjan Alioski and his future with the Yorkshire club as just a matter of weeks remain on his current deal.

We think this would be a great time for Leeds to look at finding a new option at left-back. Even if Alioski is to stay, he is now 29-years-old so would Leeds offer him a big new deal?

Despite the opportunity to address the left-back position, from what Cross had to say it seems Perraud will not be the man Leeds look to this summer amid reports of issues in negotiations between Leeds and Brest.
