Fulham fans have been reacting to a tweet from captain Tom Cairney on social media to celebrate his anniversary of joining the club.

It has been six years since Fulham signed the 30-year-old midfielder from Blackburn Rovers in a £3m deal, and it’s fair to say that they have got their money’s worth out of the signing.

Who scored the opening goal in Liverpool's 4-3 win over Leeds United at Anfield in September?

He has racked up 227 appearances for the club, during which time he has scored 37 goals and chipped in with 28 assists in what has been a rollercoaster time for the club that has seen them get promoted, relegated, promoted again, then relegated again, although he missed the majority of this past season through injury.

But even though he has been absent, that doesn’t mean that he’s been out of fans’ thoughts, and when he tweeted about the anniversary, there were plenty of supporters on hand to spread the love for all he has done for the club:

“Happy six years TC! If could score that same banger you love to score (top right corner from 25 yards) 10-15 times next season, that’d be ace. Thanks.”

“Now sign that lifetime contract please Captain”
“Get us up again TC!! You’re the man to do it fella!!! Class is permanent”
“Ledge”
“What a player. The magical left foot”

“Hope you can stay and help put Fulham back in the Prem. Top class Captain and Fulham Legend. Hope to see you in person at the Cottage soon.”
