Everton will sell Southampton target Tom Davies for the right price this summer, claims former Toffees striker Marcus Bent.

The 22-year-old was not an automatic starter last season and is now being linked with a move away from the club.

According to Football Insider, Southampton are currently looking at Davies and could make a move for him ahead of the new campaign as Ralph Hasenhuttl tries to bolster his midfield options.

Would you be sad to see Davies go?

The Englishman has come through the ranks at Everton, so he is a player some fans will not want to lose, but Bent is convinced he could be sold this transfer window if a good offer comes in.

“If the proper money comes in, then they’ll let him go,” the ex-Everton star told TIF when asked if he has heard anything about Davies’ future.

“It’s the same with kind of everyone. If the real money comes in, then they’re letting go. But really and truly, he didn’t really do it for the whole season. He came in towards the back end of the season. Is there more to come? We don’t know.”

While Ancelotti did not quite fancy him, or at least not enough to start him every game, the new man in the Goodison Park dugout might.

Furthermore, the club should perhaps not rush into any decisions and sell Davies before he is properly looked at by Ancelotti’s successor.
