Michael Ball insists that Everton have yet to have any contact with Nikola Vlasic over a potential reunion at Goodison Park this summer.

The Toffees have been linked with a potential swoop to resign the CSKA Moscow man.

The Daily Star has carried reports from Russia claiming that there is a clause in Vlasic’s deal giving Everton first option to resign him should they so wish.

The Croatia international is currently away with his country at Euro 2020 and had a largely forgettable spell at Goodison Park, making just 19 appearances in the 2017/18 season.

He was subsequently sent on loan to CSKA before the deal was made permanent.

Since his move, he has made 103 appearances, scoring 33 goals and laying on 20 assists.

Former Toffees star Ball says that he knows Vlasic’s agent well and insists that there has yet to be any contact between the two parties over a potential deal.

Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, he said: “Yeah, I know Vlasic’s agent, I’ve spoke to him in the past, and I noticed that was all leaked out over social media. Vlasic did very well to get his move to Everton, he played against Everton in the UEFA Cup and he performed very well, it’s the reason Everton bought him.

“The change of managers didn’t help him, I think he’s back with Marco Silva, the new manager of CSKA Moscow, the Euros, it’s one of them, you’re in the limelight. If you start doing well, teams will start showing interest.

“But there’s been no contact between Everton and Vlasic right now but you just never know in football.”
