Michael Ball insists that Everton’s appointment of a new manager will be their biggest signing of the summer.
The Toffees are continuing their search for a new boss following the departure of Carlo Ancelotti earlier this summer, as he returned to former club Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane left his role.
Would you be able to support Benitez if he was appointed as Everton's manager?
That did not come off and it now appears that Rafael Benitez is the frontrunner despite vocal opposition from fans and pundits alike.
Were he appointed, Benitez would become the first boss to manage both Liverpool and Everton in his career.
Of course, Benitez won the Champions League and the FA Cup with the Reds during his stint at Anfield, and is widely regarded as a legend at the club.
Whomever is appointed, Ball believes that the appointment of a new boss is vital for the Toffees this summer.
Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, he said: “I think the fans feel this is going to be the biggest signing of the summer, whoever we bring in, and, of course, we’d like it to happen as soon as possible so we can start looking at transfers in the future.”
