Crystal Palace bringing in Juventus star Aaron Ramsey this summer would be a “sign of intent”, says former Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer.

Ramsey has been linked with a surprise move to Selhurst Park, with reports in Italy (via Wales Online) claiming Palace are one English side interested in signing the 30-year-old.

Ramsey has had a mixed time in Juventus since arriving from Arsenal back in 2019. He has not always been a starter and has had some injuries, though the Welshman has managed to pick up a Serie A title and Coppa Italia trophy.

Whatever the case, Palmer believes Palace would be making quite the statement by signing him, though he feels it will be a difficult deal to pull off.

“It is a sign of intent. I was hearing the rumour that Arsenal were interested in signing him,” the ex-Leeds United player said in an exclusive interview with TIF.

“I would think he’s having a fantastic Euros. I would think, with no disrespect to Crystal Palace, I would think there’ll be bigger clubs that will be in for him.”

A high-profile player with his sort of Premier League experience, you would certainly expect more clubs to be after Ramsey this summer, so this certainly looks like a tricky transfer for Palace.
