Barry Fry believes there is no chance that Crystal Palace will receive up to £70m for Wilfried Zaha this summer, with the winger keen on an exit from Selhurst Park.

Reports have suggested that Zaha is open to leaving the club in this transfer window as he looks to take on a new challenge.

The Times reports that the forward has again outlined his intention to move on, having done so in each of the past two summers.

Who should sign Zaha?

Palace, per Fry, have previously placed a huge asking price on his head, but he believes that number will have dwindled significantly because of the impact of the pandemic on club finances.

And he has expressed serious doubt over the club’s ability to bring a replacement in if they do struggle to receive a decent price.

Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, he said: “If you want better players, they cost money, not only the transfer fee but the wages, and Zaha wants to go now.

“He’s wanted to go for a couple of years now, when they wanted fifty, sixty, seventy million, that’s going to half now with the climate financially and you get rid of him for thirty five to forty million, what do you get?

“They won’t get anyone fit to lace his boots, really.”

Zaha has had two spells at Palace, having moved to Manchester United back in 2013, and has made 393 appearances for the club, scoring 68 goals and registering 72 assists.
