Former Premier League midfielder Carlton Plamer has heaped praise on Eddie Howe as he believes Crystal Palace and the other top-flight clubs without a manager should be eyeing the former Bournemouth boss.

Howe left Bournemouth in the summer of 2020 once the Cherries had been relegated after five seasons in England’s top flight. He has most recently been linked with the vacant managerial role at Celtic, however, both parties were unable to reach an agreement as talks eventually broke down.

Everton, Crystal Palace, and Spurs are all currently without managers, and Palmer believes Howe would be a suitable appointment for any of the clubs due to his experience in the Premier League.

Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, Palmer had this to say:

“Yeah. I’d take him anywhere, me. I’d take him at any club, anywhere. I like him. He’s innovative, he’s forward-thinking, he’s always learning and he’s done a fantastic job at Bournemouth over the years.

“Any of the clubs that have been mentioned that manager jobs are available, I’d take Eddie Howe, all day long.”

TIF Thoughts on Eddie Howe’s potential return to the Premier League…

Howe carried out a fairytale at Bournemouth, taking a side from the bottom of the English Football League and on the brink of administration all the way to the Premier League is something not many people could boast on their CV. Not only did Howe take Bournemouth to the Premier League, but he also kept them in the division for numerous seasons and even broke into the top half with a ninth-place finish in 2017.

With a whole host of Crystal Palace players out of contract this summer, Howe may therefore be the man to provide the stability needed at Selhurst Park with many clubs potentially desperate to keep their Premier League status more than ever, due to the financial ramifications of the pandemic.
