West Bromwich Albion fans have been reacting to the claims that there is a potential hold-up in their reported talks with Barnsley manager Valerien Ismael over becoming their new boss.

This comes after news broke earlier in the week via John Percy of the Telegraph that Ismael was close to becoming the new West Brom manager after a compensation fee was agreed with the Tykes.

However, West Brom-focused account WBA Report tweeted, crediting a report from Football Insider which suggests there is a delay in the deal due to a disagreement with how that fee will be paid.

Baggies fans were quick to give their thoughts on the issue as the club once again seem to be making hard work of something…

Fans have a right to be frustrated if this is the case, as the club have encountered countless problems during their search for a new manager after Albion owner Lai Guochuan blocked a move for Chris Wilder over fears regarding his relationship breakdown with the owners at Sheffield United, before Luke Dowling – who was in charge of the club’s hunt for a new manager – left the club.

David Wagner was then made the first-choice candidate and the German appeared set to join the Baggies before turning them down to join Swiss side BSC Young Boys.

Barnsley manager Ismael could be a good choice for WBA after guiding the Tykes into the Championship play-offs despite being 21st in the league when he joined – and these Baggies fans will be hoping that they can get this deal over the line.
