The Baggies were relegated from the last season and have since found themselves a new manager, appointing Valérien Ismaël after Sam Allardyce departed the club at the end of the season having failed to keep the club in the Premier League.

New Baggies boss Ismaël he will return to his former club Barnsley on 18th December, with the Baggies hosting the Tykes on the final game of the season.

Ismaël faces a tricky first game in charge as the club travels to Bournemouth for the season opener and it doesn’t get much easier for the Baggies as they are pencilled in to face Sheffield United at The Hawthorns 11 days later.

The Baggies will make the short journey to Pride Park on Boxing Day and then host Cardiff on New Year’s Day.

Overall, it seems there has been a mixed response to the fixture list, but at least they now have a manager in place to try and get them back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
