Sunderland fans have been reacting to the latest news and rumours surrounding the football club after being updated with information regarding Charlie Wyke.

Wyke is out of contract in the summer and has been offered a new deal at the club, but is yet to agree to terms that would see an extension of the player’s time in the North East.

The Chronicle has tweeted an article that explains the player’s proposed demands for the deal, which are rumoured to be a four-year contract doubling his Sunderland wages as well as a multi-million-pound signing-on fee. This has gathered a number of responses from Black Cats fans.

Judging by the reaction to the comments, Sunderland fans would be satisfied to see the back of Wyke with the demands that he is requesting.

Wyke was Sunderland’s top scorer this season and only Jonson Clarke-Harris managed more goals than the 26 he scored in League One in the 2020/2021 season but his Sunderland contract runs out on 1st July and rumours have surrounded the striker suggesting that he may be on the move to Celtic.

Sunderland fans would no doubt want Wyke to stay when he is producing numbers like he did this season, but it’s clear from the replies to the post that they would be against him staying if he really does have those demands.
