Sheffield Wednesday fans have been reacting to the latest news surrounding their club, with talks over a new contract between Charles Hagan and the Owls reportedly ‘progressing well’.

This comes after Sheffield Wednesday reporter for The Star, Joe Crann tweeted the news with a link to his article and many Wednesday fans were quick to respond.

Judging by the responses, many Sheffield Wednesday fans seem to be finding it very hard to believe any good news coming their way, with all the current financial issues surrounding the club at the moment.

However, Hagan signing would be a boost for a Wednesday after the news last week that Osaze Urhoghide will not be signing a new deal at the club and fears from fans that many more will do the same over their unpaid wages.

The 19-year-old youngster is a right-winger, who appeared once for the Owls this season in the EFL Cup, playing eight minutes in a 2-0 defeat to Fulham.

After their relegation to League One, their current transfer embargo, as well as issues with player wages, Wednesday’s youth may be very important for them next season, so the news of a new contract will surely be a boost for Darren Moore’s side.
