This comes after The Bladesman relayed a report suggesting that Arsenal are interested in a move for Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. The tweet was referencing an article by The Times which claimed that Ramsdale is also keen on the move and that the Blades have placed a £24million fee on their No 1.
This was picked up by Sheffield United fans, who were not shy when it came to sharing their feelings…
“I give up”
“Please no man… I think that Rambo should not be sold, he is essential to achieve promotion again.”
“Everyone has a price. This isn’t it.”
“He must stay! Simple as that!”
Judging by the replies, many Sheffield United fans would be disappointed if Ramsdale was to go.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno is one of five senior Gunners players who apparently want to leave the club this summer, with The Times believing that Ramsdale would be Arsenal’s choice to replace the German.
The Blades bought Ramsdale from relegated Bournemouth last summer for a fee of just over £18.5 million. Ramsdale kept five clean sheets in 38 appearances this season, conceding 63 goals as the Blades finished rock-bottom of the Premier League.
Will Arsenal pursue Aaron Ramsdale this summer? Only time will tell.
