Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

On the subject of Bamford, Roberts had this to say about the striker.

He said: “He’s just like a proper chilled out guy. He’s great to be around and he’s kind of somebody that’s had a lot of criticism in the Championship and stuff like that, but he is in the Prem now and I think he’s just taken it in his stride, really.

“As soon as he came to the club, his finishing is A1, his finishing is on point, there have been videos that have come out of training and stuff, but his finishing is very good.

“So, it wasn’t a surprise to anybody at the club as well, that he scored these kinds of goals. It was more like just getting the opportunities and then having the confidence to kind of consistently put goals away and he’s done it.”

Leeds signed Bamford back in the 2018 summer transfer window from Championship club Middlesbrough for a fee of £7.11 million.

Since then, the 27-year-old, who is currently valued at £16.2 million, has made a total of 110 appearances for the Whites across all competitions in which he has managed to score 43 goals and provide 14 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Tyler Roberts’ comments on Bamford…

Taking into account how the Englishman managed to end the 2020/21 campaign as with 17 goals to his name, more than the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin (16), Jamie Vardy (15) and Ollie Watkins (14), it’s easy to see why Roberts is full of praise for Bamford and what he’s done for the team this season.

Do you think Patrick Bamford gets enough credit?

In our view, Bamford and his goals have been a vital factor in Leeds ending their first season back in the Premier League after a 16-year absence in the top half of the table and he is fully deserving of this praise from Roberts.
