Serie A journalist Conor Clancy believes Rodrigo De Paul would be an excellent addition to Marcelo Bielsa’s side if Leeds were able to strike a deal with Udinese and bring him to Elland Road.

Leeds have been linked with the midfielder for some time and Clancy believes if he was to move to Yorkshire he would instantly become the best player at Leeds, due to being a level above.

Speaking to Football FanCast, Clancy had this to say on De Paul:

“I think he’s probably better than any player Leeds have on their books at the moment, particularly in an attacking sense.

“I know they’ve got a lot of good players but De Paul, for me, is just on another level to the rest of them.”

TIF Thoughts on De Paul…

De Paul is a name that has been linked with a whole host of clubs over the past 12 months or so. Liverpool have been one of those linked with his acquiring his signature; judging by The Reds’ recent shrewd moves in transfer windows, Leeds are definitely shopping in the right places.

It’s been a fantastic season for De Paul, as he managed to rack up 9 goals and 11 assists in all competitions for the Italian outfit. If Leeds were able to get a deal done, he could have much joy playing providing service for the likes of Patrick Bamford and Raphinha, who were in goalscoring form for the Whites in the season just passed.

While they do not point towards the likelihood of an agreement occurring this summer, these comments from Clancy will almost certainly whet the appetite of Leeds fans if they do manage to sign De Paul.
