Leeds United fans have been reacting to comments made by former goalkeeper Paul Robinson about one of their targets this summer.

A report from The Express claimed that Leeds United are one of a number of clubs that have shown an interest in the services of West Bromwich Albion’s Matheus Pereira.

The Brazilian, valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, had a very impressive season for the Baggies in 2020/21, scoring 12 goals and chipping in with six assists, so it’s no wonder that Leeds might be taking a look at him this window.

Can you remember where Leeds finished in these league seasons? First up: 2018/19

Speaking in an interview with MOT Leeds News, Robinson spoke very highly of the 25-year-old and said that he would be a good signing for Marcelo Bielsa’s men:

“He’s a top player. It’s great that Leeds are linked with these top players. His set-piece delivery is what has impressed me this year at West Brom. He impressed in a poor West Brom team so I think that would be a good signing if he’s got the attitude and work rate to put in for the demands of playing for Leeds.”

His comments were relayed to fans on the Leeds Insider Facebook page, where there were plenty of fans who lined up to agree with his comments, as they too wanted to see the club make a move for him:

Should Leeds spend big in the summer?

Yes, we should!

Yes, we should!

No, we shouldn't

No, we shouldn't

Let’s just hope these fans aren’t left disappointed once the window is over.
