Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest update concerning their reported transfer interest in West Bromwich Albion attacker Matheus Pereira.

This comes after Leeds journalist David Anderson shared a post on his Twitter page revealing that Pereira’s agent is “trying to find him a top-flight club following West Brom’s relegation and has spoken to Leeds, among other clubs.”

Reports emerged earlier this week suggesting that he could be available for as little as £15m.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

Anderson also added that at the moment, Leeds are “not following up on his offer to open transfer talks.”

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Leeds fans who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest claim.

So, what did these Leeds fans have to say in response to this latest update about Pereira?

“Interesting tweet. Certainly Leeds have shied away from signing England-based players recently, believing that there is better value abroad than at home. I can’t believe the £15m valuation though – he is in Buendia’s league, so double that would represent a fair price for WBA.”

Would be perfect for this #lufc team too”

@lufcThommo

“Bit of a shame, I imagine they have others lined up of course – but he is the sort of player we could do with creatively.”

@BlobbyOllie

“Shame because £15m is a bargain”

@ronaallleeds

“Yesssssssssss W”

@CunhaSzn10

“Good news. Wouldn’t fit at all, not sure why so many on here seemed so keen on this”

@FootyAnalyKris

“This is interesting… I think if the price is around £15m we’re idiots not to pursue it!! Thoughts?”

@Jacko__LUFC

“Shame, cos the lads top quality!”

@SouthStand82

Looking at the replies to this post, it seems that these Leeds fans would like to see their club make a move to try and sign Pereira this summer from the Baggies.

Would Pereira be a good fit for Leeds?

No

Considering how the Brazilian managed to score 11 goals and provide six assists in the top flight this season for West Brom – contributing to more than three times as many goals as his teammates – and has reportedly been given a price tag of £15 million for this summer, it’s understandable, in our view, why these Leeds fans are urging their club to sign the attacker, who they see as good value for the reported transfer fee.
