Leeds United fans have been reacting to footage of Gjanni Alioski for North Macedonia at Euro 2020.

It’s a very special occasion for Alioski and North Macedonia, as they are playing in their first major tournament in their history, although things haven’t exactly gone well for them.

They lost their first game 3-1 to Austria and today lost to Ukraine 2-1 to leave them on the brink of elimination, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t things for them to celebrate.

Can you remember where Leeds finished in these league seasons? First up: 2018/19

One of those moments came today as Alioski scored on the rebound from a penalty just before the hour mark to bring his side back into the game.

The footage of the goal was relayed by the club’s official Twitter account, where there were plenty of Leeds supporters that were more than happy to share their joy in his special moment, with one using it as an opportunity to share their desire for him to sign a new contract at the club, having reportedly been offered one in recent weeks:

“Elite player”

“That’s our boy”
“Jammy Alioski”
“Give him a knighthood”
“Tears in my eyes”
“Sign him up”

There is of course still one more group game to go for North Macedonia, so there is still the chance for Alioski to create some more memories for his country before the tournament is over.
