Leeds United would suit Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, the club’s former player Carlton Palmer has told This Is Futbol.

After a successful 2019/20 season, where he was able to score 15 goals in the Premier League, Abraham was on the periphery during the 2020/21 campaign.

The 23-year-old England international barely featured under Thomas Tuchel and now looks to be heading for the exit door.

Would Abraham be a good signing?

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are ready to offload the player and will listen to offers of £40m as they look to shake things up in attack.

For Palmer, Elland Road could be the perfect destination for Abraham. He told TIF:

“I think he’s a good player, I really do. He’s very athletic; he can get around the football pitch.

“Funnily enough, I think Leeds would suit him, the way they play. I think they’ve got to bring in another striker because if they lose [Patrick] Bamford, if he picks up an injury… he sets the tone of the game for them with his energy, with his desire, with his running, his closing down.”

It is not clear what Abraham’s preference is or if he even has one yet, but one thing that is for sure is that he needs to leave Chelsea this summer.

Even if the Blues do not go and fork out on a new forward like Erling Haaland, it is still hard to see him getting back in the team ahead of someone such as Kai Havertz, who has just won his side the Champions League.
