Aston Villa have been tipped to bring some ‘big’ signings to Villa Park this summer according to Dan Morgan and Dan Wiseman from the Heart of the Holte YouTube channel.

Dean Smith’s side today announced they have agreed on a fee with Norwich for the transfer of playmaker Emiliano Buendia.

According to Morgan and Wiseman, the transfer of Buendia, medical pending, could be the first of many statement signings made by the Villans this summer, following last week’s reports that they were also looking to bring Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse to Villa Park.

Speaking on Sunday’s Villa Filler podcast, Morgan had this to say on Villa’s summer transfer plans:

“You know, with the emergence of Carney [Chukwuemeka], with the emergence of [Jaden] Philogene-Bidace, and with the emergence of [Jacob] Ramsey, I think Villa will go big in sort of signings in key areas, and certainly look to promote the youth. And let’s be honest, we are three or four players off from Europe.”

TIF Thoughts on Aston Villa’s summer transfer window plans…

Last season’s 11th-place finish signalled a huge improvement for Aston Villa after they avoided relegation on the final day of the campaign on their first season back in the top flight. However, with the recent announcement on Buendia, Villa are clearly showing intent to climb the table yet again next season, as they eye a potential break into the European spots.

If Villa are able to keep hold of the ever-impressive Jack Grealish for another season at least, that could arguably be like a new signing for Villa and co; complemented alongside some of the rumoured fresh faces, it could be another enjoyable campaign for the Villa faithful.
