A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the latest news to emerge surrounding winger Steven Bergwijn.
On Friday, it was announced the 23-year-old had been named in the Netherlands’ provisional Euros squad ahead of this summer’s competition.
Should Bergwijn start more for Spurs?
Yes
No
The Dutch winger has failed to make much of an impression on the Spurs squad this season having played just 1071 minutes in the Premier League this season (via Transfermarkt).
Bergwijn signed for the Lilywhites in January 2020 and made an instant impact on the north London side by scoring on his debut against Manchester City.
Spurs fans flocked to the tweet from the club relaying the news of Bergwijn’s provisional place in the Netherlands’ Euros squad.
“How can you make it into your NATIONAL squad after scoring ZERO goals all season”
Going by the reaction of these Spurs fans it is apparent they have been left far from impressed by the Dutch winger this season and are stunned that he has made the national side.
