A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to provide their thoughts at the latest transfer rumour to emerge ahead of the summer window.
According to Foot Mercato, Real Madrid have collected information on Spurs right-back Serge Aurier as they view the Ivorian as a potential backup for Dani Carvajal.
Should Spurs sell Aurier this summer?
The 28-year-old has featured 19 times in the Premier League for Spurs this season and netted himself two goals and three assists in those games (via Transfermarkt).
However, Aurier has just one more year left on his contract so it could be a viable option for Daniel Levy to offload the full-back whilst they are still able to cash in.
Spurs fans flocked to the tweet from @HotspurRelated relaying the report and it is fair to say the claim was music to their ears.
“If you need a lift just give me a call!’
“Please don’t tease me. I beg you real take him.”
“I will give him a piggy back all the way to Madrid if it means he no longer at spurs.”
“Please let this be true.”
Tottenham currently sit slumped in seventh spot of the Premier League table
and with just three games remaining of their 2020/21 campaign, their hopes of European football lie in the balance.
Going by the reaction of these Tottenham fans it is apparent they would very much welcome the sale of Aurier this summer with some even offering to drive him to the airport.
