Celtic fans have been reacting to claims surrounding the future of David Turnbull.
The midfielder was one of the few bright spots in what was an overall disappointing season for the Bhoys, as the 21-year-old managed to score ten goals and provide eight assists along the way.
This form didn’t go unnoticed either, as not only did he win the club’s Player and Young Player of the Year awards, he also managed to pick up the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award as a reward for his efforts. But when you put in displays like that, other clubs are going to pay attention to you, as is the case with Turnbull.
The Scottish Sun is claiming that English Premier League side Aston Villa are preparing a £7m bid for his services this summer, although when speaking to Football Insider, former Celtic man Frank McAvennie claimed that this could just be a case of ‘testing the water’.
His comments were relayed to fans via the Celtic Insider Facebook page, where there were plenty of fans devastated to hear the news as they wanted Turnbull to stick around at the club:
Is Turnbull the best youngster in Scotland?
Yes
No
After the season he had, that is kind of understandable.
