Last season, Dembele had become the youngest Celtic player to have made his debut in European competition. The talent had played for the club’s Under-20s side as a 13-year-old only, which perhaps is a reflection of the talent he’s had over the years.

Dalziel talked about Dembele’s future and stated (42:53): “I think that next two games are massive for the young lad. If you don’t see him, you think right – that’s it, end of story.”

TIF Thoughts on Dembele’s future…

Dembele has got only limited first-team opportunities in the current campaign, as there have been concerns about his application in training and about his development.

This suggests that certain things are hindering his progress and perhaps, that is why he hasn’t featured enough. Clubs like Borusssia Dortmund are said to be circling around him too.

But Dembele’s contract at Celtic runs out in the summer of 2022, so perhaps he has another season in the bank to make an impact.
