Journalist Mark Guidi has recently talked about Kevin Nisbet’s future, saying that it won’t be a surprise if the striker ends up at Celtic.

Recent reports have suggested that Celtic are interested in signing Nisbet from Hibernian and both him and Aaron Hickey have been presented to the reported managerial candidate Eddie Howe as summer transfer targets.

Guidi talked about Nisbet, when he appeared on the latest episode of the Go Radio Football Show and he believes that it may not be a surprise if the Scotsman does join Celtic in the summer.

Will Nisbet be a Celtic player soon?

No

Guidi seems sure that 24-year-old Nisbet will be on the list on targets that will be handed over to Howe if he is to take over at Parkhead.

The pundit stated (29:48): “Why not? He knows his way about this league, he can score goals. When you think back, we’re going back 15-20 years. When you’ve got goalscorers like that, I think they can step up. If you look at the classic example – Kris Boyd, Kilmarnock to Rangers for £400k, more than a 100 goals.

“Scott McDonald – Motherwell to Celtic, £600k, handled it, no problems. So if you’ve got Kevin Nisbet available, he’s been linked with Celtic, I do think that for sure he’ll be on a list of names presented to Eddie Howe to look at and go and do his homework on. So it wouldn’t surprise me if Kevin Nisbet ends up at Celtic next summer.”

TIF Thoughts on Kevin Nisbet to Celtic…

Nisbet has been a very active goalscorer in the various divisions of Scottish football and this season, he has scored 14 times in the Premiership, also grabbing eight assists in all competitions ( per Transfermarkt).

Odsonne Edouard has been linked with a Celtic exit and Leigh Griffiths’ future is in doubt too. Patryk Klimala has left too.

So Celtic will need options in the striker’s department next season and considering Nisbet’s record in different levels of the game, he could be a good option for the Bhoys.
