Former Premier League man Lee Hendrie has recently talked about the fact that Chris Wilder might be a better fit for Celtic than Eddie Howe.

The Hoops have already made contact with Eddie Howe, who is already putting together his staff before a Parkhead move. Wilder though, has been linked with move to Celtic in the past, as the Englishman left Sheffield United well before the conclusion of the campaign.

It has previously been reported that the Hoops haven’t really made contact with Wilder, but a potential move to city of Glasgow could be hard to turn down for the former Sheffield United boss.

Hendrie was talking to Football Fancast recently and he believes that the Englishman can get the club rocking again, as he seems to have the mentality to do that.

Hendrie said: “I think most Celtic fans, they’d probably go with Eddie Howe I just feel for the football side of things. But I feel for the part and passion and the whole round circumference of Chris Wilder, I’d be looking at him.

“I feel he’d get the club rocking again – I really do. And I just feel he’s got that temperament and that mentality to do that.”

TIF Thoughts on Wilder…

While Howe helped Bournemouth climb up the divisions in the English footballing pyramid, Wilder also has the experience of managing clubs at various levels in England and he helped Sheffield United climb up from League One to the Premier League too.

Having said that, Celtic seem to be well advanced in the potential appointment of Howe, so perhaps going for Wilder isn’t really an option anymore.
