Journalist John McGarry has recently talked about Tom Rogic and his future at Celtic Park.

Rogic was heavily linked with a move to an unnamed Qatari club last summer and Celtic looked set to earn a fee of £4million from his sale. The Australian though, failed to agree personal terms and the move fell through.

McGarry appeared on the latest episode of The Celtic Huddle podcast and he talked about the situation of Rogic. The journalist believes that the midfielder’s time is up and he’s one of those players who is just drifting around and should leave the club.

Currently 28, Rogic’s last start for the Hoops in the league came back in February and he hasn’t been in the squad in recent weeks.

McGarry gave his opinion about the Australian and said (24:17): “There’s too many players that are just kind of drifting. Tom Rogic is one that springs to mind. Supremely talented footballer, but his time is up and it’s time to freshen things up with guys like that as well, I think.”

TIF Thoughts on Rogic’s future…

Over the last few seasons, Rogic’s game time has only reduced and he’s now playing less and less with every passing season (as per Transfermarkt).

Not just that, but he’s also been troubled by multiple injuries over the last few campaigns and that isn’t a good sign either, considering that he’s now 28.

The Hoops now have David Turnbull starring for them and summer transfer target Ali McCann can also play in the attacking midfield position. So because of his reducing importance, it would make sense for Celtic to part ways with Rogic.
