Many Celtic fans have been talking about Odsonne Edouard after a claim about the Frenchman emerged on social media.

Former Celtic star John Hartson was recently talking on the Go Radio Football Show and he gave his views about the future of Edouard (via The Scottish Sun).

The Welshman said that while everyone does expect the striker to leave in the summer, he does know that Edouard loves to play for the club, even though everyone has been talking about his exit. Hartson said that it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that Edouard stays if Eddie Howe informs the Celtic board about his liking for the striker, who is valued at £13.50m by Transfermarkt.

Do you want Edouard to leave?

“No thanks get shot of him…he’s too lazy and stole his wages this season”

These Celtic fans clearly want Edouard to depart as soon as possible, even though Hartson believes that there might be a chance of him staying.

It has been stated that Edouard has rejected the chance of signing a new deal at Parkhead and his current deal runs out in the summer of 2022.

So something has to give sooner or later, and either way, it appears that Celtic could soon face the prospect of their top scorer in each of the last three seasons exiting the club, which would presumably leave a sizeable void at Parkhead.

Celtic fans can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players. First up, who is this?

Celtic certainly wouldn’t want to lose a player on a free transfer next summer, so selling him this summer would be their best chance of earning a fee from his sale. So perhaps, the time is right for Celtic to part ways with the Frenchman.
