Celtic fans have been reacting to the performance of Ryan Christie during their game against St Johnstone.

With the league already wrapped up and handed to their rivals from across the city, and with second-place secured long ago, there’s nothing really on the line but pride for the Bhoys, and perhaps playing to show they deserve to be part of the team next year.

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

Indeed, most of the noise before the game seemed to focus on the fact it was Scott Brown’s final home game.

But that didn’t stop the fans from noticing the sloppy play of Christie, valued at £8.1m on Transfermarkt, as they ripped into his performance online during the first half, with many questioning his passing ability and others thinking he needs to be sold this upcoming summer:

“I’ve watched 8 minutes of this and we need to sell Christie in summer for sure”

“Am fed up of Christie, a genuinely hope he leaves this summer”
“Has Christie made a pass to a Celtic player yet? Serious question”
“Quick update – Christie has had the ball 8 times. Celtic have lost the ball 8 times”
“Release Ryan Christie”
“Watching Ryan Christie play for Celtic physically pains me”

With 7 goals and 14 assists in all competitions this season, this is probably just an off night for him.  Let’s just see if his performance in the second half gets any better, for his own sake more than anything else.
