Celtic fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news concerning Eddie Howe.

This comes after journalist Stephen McGowan shared a post on his Twitter page relaying news originally published in an article from the Daily Mail.

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

The article claims that Eddie Howe’s proposed move to Celtic as their next permanent manager has collapsed after a breakdown in talks.

Specifically, the article claims that talks broke down over Howe’s backroom team demands and that the club is now looking at alternatives and in advanced talks with another potential candidate.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Celtic fans on Twitter who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest update.

So, what did these Celtic fans have to say in response to this latest news about Howe?

“Absolute embarrassment”

@biggbo100

“Absolute car crash. Time for the board to exit. Shambles!”

@ChaosTheory15

“Absolutely shambolic”

@gjust67

“Weekend ruined thanks Celtic”

@markcarrick1

Absolutely shameful @CelticFC.”

@adriceltic

“We are an utter joke”

@Owen_Gray7

“If this is true..”

@paulconn75

Looking at the replies to this post, it appears that these Celtic fans are rather disappointed and let down by the board regarding their inability to secure Howe as their new permanent manager, which just proves how much they wanted to see Howe at the club.

Given how long the former AFC Bournemouth boss has been linked with a move to Parkhead, it’s understandable why these Hoops fans are feeling deflated and frustrated by the entire situation, which has left the club no closer to appointing a permanent manager.

Do you Celtic have made a mistake in not securing Eddie Howe?

No

In our view, unless the club could somehow still manage to convince Howe to take the job, then their best port of call would be to see if they can get a suitable manager appointed as soon as possible, or else they could risk the possibility of receiving further criticism from their fans.
