Barry Ferguson has spoken about his nephew Lewis Ferguson’s future and whether he could join Celtic in the future.

Ferguson was a guest on the latest episode of the Go Radio Football Show and one of the callers on the show asked him about whether his nephew Lewis can leave Aberdeen to join Celtic in the near future.

Ferguson made it clear that his nephew wouldn’t have a problem with joining Celtic, even though his uncle and father played for Rangers in the past. He also praised the Aberdeen midfielder.

Recently, reports have stated that Aberdeen have rejected a bid of £2m from Watford for Ferguson and even Rangers are in the race for the midfielder.

While the Hornets are expected to return with another offer, Stephen Glass has made it clear that potential suitors would need to offer a lot of money (per The Scottish Sun).

The midfielder’s uncle, Barry, believes that the midfielder will have options for his future soon and he’d be open to a move to Celtic too.

He stated (1:15:50): “I don’t think he’d have a problem with that. For the simple fact – I know a lot of people go on about his dad obviously, playing with Rangers and I’m Lewis’ uncle and I played with Rangers.

“I know for a fact that he’s going to have options because Lewis is, for me, a top young player. We just need to wait and see but I don’t think that’d cross his mind.”

TIF Thoughts on Lewis Ferguson to Celtic…

Celtic are set to lose Scott Brown to Aberdeen in the summer and Marseille have the option to sign Olivier Ntcham permanently as well.

This might be a suggestion of the fact that the Hoops might need another midfield option next season and Ferguson has loads of Premiership experience already with Aberdeen. He also adds goals from midfield.

He’s still only 21-years-old and may still improve in the future. So it would make sense for Celtic to go after the Scotsman.
