TalkSport insider Alex Crook has provided an update on the future of Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard.

The French forward has been one of the few reliable players for Celtic this season, scoring 22 goals and providing 6 assists in all competitions, with Mohamed Elyounoussi the only other player able to reach double figures.

And that return has seen him garner a lot of attention from clubs looking for his services this summer, with Arsenal, Leicester City, Aston Villa and AS Roma all reportedly showing an interest in bringing him in.

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

And speaking on TalkSport on Wednesday (2:35:18), Crook revealed that there is a high chance of him signing for the Foxes and reuniting with his former manager Brendan Rodgers this upcoming window:

“Interesting transfer news reaching me in the last 48 hours as well involving Odsonne Edouard, at the moment very much a Celtic player, probably won’t be by the time the new season starts under Eddie Howe.

“Leicester City very keen to bring him to the Premier League and indeed very confident I’m being told that’s a transfer that they can make happen. £15m is the fee that’s being touted to me for Brendan Rodgers to sign a player of course he knows very well from his time in the [SPFL].”

Is there any chance of Edouard staying?

TIF Thoughts on Alex Crooks’ comments about Odsonne Edouard possibly leaving Celtic

If the £15m fee that Crook is reporting is correct, then it really could provide Celtic with some decent funds in order to boost the squad.

Let’s just hope they end up spending it wisely, because given the anger between the fans and the club right now, they need to show some real progress fast, so they can’t afford to waste any time in getting back on track.
