Pundit Alan Rough has recently made a claim about Eddie Howe and his potential future at Celtic.

It has been suggested that Howe is putting together some staff for taking over at Parkhead and he’s serious about the role.

Rough talked about the Englishman and his potential Parkhead move, when the pundit appeared on PLZ Soccer’s The Football Show. He believes that the Celtic job will be very big for Howe and he’ll be phoning people to understand what he really is getting himself into.

Howe is said to be closing in a Celtic move and he’s already held face-to-face talks with Dermot Desmond about the role.

Rough feels that Celtic happens to be a much bigger job than Bournemouth and Howe can look forward to the role as it would benefit his career.

He said (26:10): “I think he’ll be phoning around a few people to find out what he is getting himself into, because it’s certainly much much bigger than Bournemouth, there’s no doubt about that. It’ll be exciting, the same as Steven Gerrard has found, that if you’re in a successful big team, it is exciting being the manager of a crowd of 50,000 – 60,000.

“It’ll be an amazing buzz for him, moving from Bournemouth to Celtic and everything that goes with it. I think you would look forward to that if you’re a manager who wants to progress in his career.”

TIF Thoughts on Howe…

At Bournemouth, Howe did manage the pressure of taking over a club that was dealing with big financial issues and he got them promoted up to the Premier League within the space of three years (as per The Athletic).

But whilst he’s well used to the highs and lows of the game, Celtic would present a chance at playing European football and competing for trophies on a regular basis and there would be the huge pressure of managing a club that has become accustomed to winning trophies.

More so, he’ll be managing a club that will undergo a transition in the summer and he would’ve to get them back to winning ways. So without a doubt, Celtic would be a much bigger challenge for Howe than Bournemouth was.
