Ex-Wolves star Steve Bull has laughed off claims regarding Nuno Santo’s potential exit from the club and a potential move to Aston Villa.
Reports have recently suggested that Jorge Mendes is pushing for his client Nuno Santo to join Aston Villa as their manager, with the agent of the opinion that his compatriot is ready to move on from Wolves.
The report has also claimed that Mendes is keen to see his client manage a club with higher financial resources and Villa are seen as an option for the Wolves boss, even though Dean Smith’s job doesn’t seem to be insecure at all.
Do you fear losing Nuno in the summer?
Yes
No
Ex-Wolves star Bull was recently talking to Transfer Tavern and he laughed off these reports, saying that the Wolves boss won’t move to Villa.
He said: “Aston Villa – I can’t stop laughing! Villa have two good coaches there in John Terry and Dean Smith.
“I don’t think they’ll need to change anything because they have come on leaps and bounds, so I don’t think Nuno will go there.”
TIF Thoughts on Nuno’s future…
While links with Villa have appeared, Santo was also linked with a move to Tottenham after Jose Mourinho’s exit from the club. Arsenal had drawn links with a move for him in the past too.
It was stated that Mendes had actually offered his client to Tottenham and it wasn’t a case of Spurs approaching the Portuguese. So these should be ominous signs for Wolves and it might suggest that Nuno’s agent is perhaps trying to push the manager away. Because of that, it may not be a surprise that the Wolves boss ends up leaving at some point.
