Wolverhampton Wanderers fans on Twitter have been sharing their criticism for Wolves defender Roman Saiss and his performance during their recent Premier League showdown against West Bromwich Albion.
With Nuno Espirito Santo’s side falling to a 4-0 thrashing against Burnley at Molineux during their previous Premier League outing, the Old Gold travelled to The Hawthorns to take on West Brom.
During the match against Sam Allardyce’s side, lots of Wolves fans were not impressed by what they were seeing from Saiss on the pitch with many flocking to Twitter to share exactly what they were thinking.
So, what did these Wolves fans have to say about Saiss’ performance against West Brom?
“Saiss absolutely shocking”
“Romain Saiss time and timw again cant defend yet he still starts games i wouldn’t even put him in the squad let alone the first 11 #wwfc“
“This is why Kilman should of played instead of Saiss”
“How is Saiss a defender?”
“Saiss is not a centre back.”
“Wanna see Kilman in over Saiss for the remainder of the season”
“Saiss has to be the first to go in the clear out, quality guy but nowhere near good enough #wwfc“
Wolves signed Saiss back in August 2016 from French club SCO Angers for a fee of £3.6 million. Since then, the 31-year-old, who is currently valued at £9 million, has made over 170 appearances for the Old Gold (per Transfermarkt).
Looking at these tweets from this group of Wolves fans, it’s apparent that they were not overwhelmed by what they saw from Saiss during the match.
Given how Birmingham Mail only gave the defender a match rating of 6/10 for his performance against the Baggies, this backs up why these Wolves fans were not impressed with his latest display.
Do you think Saiss should leave Wolves this summer?
Yes
No
Moving forward, unless Saiss can prove to Espirito Santo that he can still be a vital figure in this Wolves squad, he could be in danger of leaving Molineux this summer when his current contract expires if the club doesn’t decide to use the option of an extra year on his deal.
