Former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie has told This Is Futbol in an exclusive interview that Joe Worrall would fit the bill for West Ham.

Worrall is currently being linked with a move to the Premier League, with The Sun’s Alan Nixon reporting that West Ham, Burnley and Norwich City are all interested in the Nottingham Forest centre-back.

Based on WhoScored, 6 ft 4 Worrall is currently one of the best performers in Chris Hughton’s squad, something Rangers manager Steven Gerrard would probably agree with.

Nice easy one to start off with. How much do you think Declan Rice is worth?

The Liverpool legend described him as a “fantastic player” and a “leader” amid previous links to Ibrox, where he actually spent the 2018-19 season on loan.

And for Hendrie, if the Hammers can get this deal over the line, then David Moyes would have acquired the perfect individual for his squad.

Speaking exclusively to TIF about the club’s reported interest in Worrall, the ex-Villa player said:

I think it’s all going to boil down to sort of the end of the season and where West Ham are going to finish.

“[But] you’ve got to say that Worrall would be a player that you feel would certainly fit the bill for West Ham, for sure.”

Worrall is unlikely to cost the £40m Chelsea are reportedly demanding for another West Ham target in Tammy Abraham, so it should be a much more affordable deal for David Gold and David Sullivan to do.
