Ex-WHU Employee has been speaking on the latest edition of The West Ham Way podcast about all things relating to West Ham United.

Nice easy one to start off with. How much do you think Declan Rice is worth?

One of the topics that he spent a bit of time on was transfers, and he revealed that the Hammers’ want to sign Tammy Abraham, who has been linked with a move to the London Stadium and could cost upwards of £40m.

Abraham has barely featured under Thomas Tuchel, and it looks like he could be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, and the Hammers will be ready to act quickly to try and sign him.

Ex said on the podcast: (1:13:22) “The club apparently wants to move quite early for a striker. So they can get it sorted, and then they can work with him [in] pre-season, so he’s ready and firing to go for the start of the new season.

“Now, Tammy Abraham didn’t even make the Chelsea bench for the [FA] Cup final at the weekend. He appears to be on his way out at Chelsea; now, we are incredibly interested in him, whether we would stump the £30m/£35m/£40m that [is] rumoured to be the price but we could go for him on loan, a loan to buy.”

Do you think that West Ham can sign Abraham?

TIF Thoughts on Abraham to Chelsea…

The 23-year-old has scored six league goals this season, including two against West Ham, which makes him the Blues’ joint-top league goalscorer but he is clearly not fancied by Tuchel.

If he were to move to West Ham, then he would provide competition for Michail Antonio, but they would also be signing a full English international and someone who has scored a lot of goals in his career at various levels.

However, Moyes claimed quite recently that West Ham wouldn’t be stumping up £40m + for Abraham, so it will be interesting to see if the Hammers can come to an agreement to sign the Chelsea man.
